Fuel consumption digital display

Featured Replies

I used to have the average fuel consumption 'from start' displayed on the digital dash. However, this seems to have changed to 'since refuelling'. I know how to change what is displayed but can't seem to find an option to change which fuel consumption data is displayed. Please can anyone help?

There are 3 settings, from start, since fuelling, long term (which I think resets after 2000 miles)

You need to get fuel consumption displayed using the right and left buttons and thumbwheel on right hand side, then press down the thumbwheel (and hold down) then scroll the thumbwheel.   Holding and scrolling let’s you change between the sub-categories.

There are some other things with sub-menus where you can change in similar way.

Basically need to hold thumbwheel down to get these, if it is up (normal position) then scrolls through top level options and you won’t see the choice of sub-categories

Thanks very much for your reply.

However, I can't seem to get this to work. When I get the options displayed on the dash, holding down & scrolling the thumbwheel doesn't do or activate anything.

There doesn't appear to be any option to even scroll through the different display options, like you can if you go via the infotainment & into vehicle.

Please can you help?

There are sometimes mix ups and time wasted when people don't state which make and model they have and where they live.

Models destined for different countries often have the onboard systems set up differently to the UK.

I haven't researched this, but are UK SE models set up differently to SE L models. so e.g. telling what works in my SE L might not work in an SE. Just a thought.

It's a UK-based SE L on a 20 reg.

That's better 👍. I'll raise your hopes and say that I think what you're asking may be possible, but rein you in by also saying that since I bought my Kamiq in July I haven't driven it a lot, so I'm not as familiar with all of the settings as I'd like to be.

I have found out very recently that refuelling does automatically reset some figures. I run my digital screen with two normal dials showing (as in an analogue dash) which gives very little other info. One of the other dash types does give more info, but I can't remember which one. If I get time later I'll have a fiddle, but I suspect someone brighter than me will have answered you by then.

Okay, here's what I've found.

I'm talking Kamiq here, things might be different in other models.

The RHS thumbwheel alters nothing with regard to fuel consumption, it only alters things in the Driver Assist programme where you can scroll through the settings and turn them on/off with a press of the wheel.

Apart from TRIP, TOTAL MILEAGE and TOTAL MILES REMAINING IN TANK, the only reference to fuel consumption on the digital dash is MPG SINCE START on LHS of screen and no amount of scroll wheel pressing and turning would change that. MPG SINCE START does not show on every screen and certainly not on the STANDARD screen that I normally use.

Just above where MPG SINCE START shows, there's 3 little dashes which I think probably show current mpg since start when driving - I wasn't.

Of course, there's obviously 3 different types of mpg to seen in the infotainment screen and that's what I use when I'm driving and it's relatively easy to arrow between them on the move.

Somebody might know different, but that's all I could find.

As an aside and off topic a bit, are you getting Over The Air navigation database updates i.e.mapping and if so, what's your most recent one?

With the "since refuelling" info the dash you shortpress the right hand size  thumb wheel once and it will switch to longterm, another short press and it will switch to since start and another short press and back to since refuelling.

On the dash in my car, it only says SINCE START, not SINCE REFUELLING and a short press of the thumbwheel doesn't change anything.

You are in Romania, so maybe your cars are configured differently. There are certainly a lot of differences between the same models that end up in different parts of the world.

I know there are differences between trim levels and prices from country to country, but when it comes to how to operate different systems of the car,i doubt Skoda would complicate things ,by switching around buttons and functions from country to country.

Imo the person who started the topic should post a picture of his dash and point on the picture where he wants to change the info on the dash.

What i said in my post ,applies to the digital dash(aka Virtual Cockpit),set in the mode where i have an analogue tachometer on the right and a analogue speedometer on the right, and the fuel consumption in the middle, between the 2 virtual dials.

Don't be so sure, just Google pics of Skoda virtual cockpit and you'll see different things on the standard view screen.

On the standard view screen, which I assume is the one you refer to, this is what I see. Nothing there about fuel consumption and I've found no way to change that,

Skoda adds Virtual Cockpit option to its larger models | Autocar

That would be a good idea and you could also post a pic of your standard view showing us what you see.

On my sel on that screen, you can change where it says P and also where it says kph to have fuel consumption and also various other things like compass or accelaration g-force options. If you add fuel consumption to where the kph is, the kph becomes smaller and appears below the fuel consumption data, still not worked out what all the options/changes are that I can make yet.

Wow, that's good news and you've certainly fared better than I did.

Any chance you can tell us how to do it, or at least what to press and in what order so we can get to that part of the screen.

The analogue screen in my previous Kodiaq was much easier than this.🤔

It is difficult to explain, there are several ways to do it, I have the 2022 model year, and there are some differences with the display over previous models, but I did it through the infotainment screen (Amundsen)

if you download the owners manual from here -

the info you need is listed under digital instrument cluster.

Smashing and thankyou, I'll have a look and a play around later today. It'll be interesting to see if it works in my 21 model.

I've tried to get fuel consumption figures on the digital dashboard on our Karoq. With the speedo and rev counter showing, the only figure that I can get is remaining range. A bit disappoining as I could get ant figures I wished displayed on our previous car.

The OP posted their question on Kamiq Forums as well, here's the thread which currently shows that it can be done, but as yet I'm not sure how, so I've asked Lofty (as you'll see) to tell us which buttons to press.

I think Moonraker is right, it has to be done in conjunction with the Infotainment screen.

Okay, I've been having a play and I've discovered some things. As usual, I found the Skoda manual hard to follow but it did lead me trying things  which I'll try and explain (badly) here.

First thing I found, was that the info that can be changed in the centre of each dial in Classic View via the infotainment system can also be done via the controls on the RHS of the steering wheel.

This will be a rough explanation, you'll need to go and do it for yourself to learn all of the functions.

To change what info you see in the centre of the dials in Classic View, long press the icon on RHs of steering wheel that looks like two small squares with a right facing arrow beside them. This will bring up options between the dials which you can the scroll between them with the scroll wheel and when you reach the one you want to try, press down on the scroll wheel. Each one you try (there's 4 of them) will change what you see in the centre of the main dials.

It's also possible to get different data in the middle of the two dials. To access this, long press the button with a larger, left facing arrow on RHS of steering wheel. Once again, this will give you options, so use the scroll wheel to scroll through them and then press down on the scroll wheel to look at your chosen option.

Rather than list all of the possible options, it will be easier if you go and have a play as I did to familiarise yourself with them. There may be other options that I've missed.

I hope this is understandable and useful.

Thanks for that! I've had a play and I've now managed to get  my 'since start' figures on the screen. It certainly isn't intuitive!

You're welcome, we get there in the end usually. 👍

I don't understand what you mean, you must have the same Virtual screen that I have.

As I said the dials on my screen are red, I was mistaken they have red circles inner and outer.

I assume you know that you can change between 5 different screens. Have you got something different in the Monte Carlo display e.g. can you change mood lighting  ?
