Best Reverse driving camera for Skoda Fabia MK III

I know that some cameras are with a canbus conection, some have a washer, some have led light, but I would like to know from your experience which one fits and works good with a Fabia MKIII

yes, that is a different situation. my unit has gps and it is mib2 amundsen 5Q0035874A while on the other thread is a swing unit without gps.

Assuming you have original (non-retrofitted) unit, your Fabia is MY15 which means it has 9cm wide trunk handle.  See this aliexpress offer and select the camera for you - I beleive it's gonna be LS8011. You will also need trunk handle cover 5J0827229 and 2 pieces of M6 nuts (original ones part number is N01508210).

@pab567 Thanks for the details. It is the original unit that came with the car TMBJN6NJGZ . Would I need any other vide converters or adapters between the camera and the unit? I am not sure which inputs this unit has. Do you have the datasheet of this unit?

You need to connect the camera to pins 6 (signal) and 12 (ground) of blue 12-pin plug in QuadLock.

Since I did not buy the camera yet and I studied a bit the market I would like to ask for your recommendation. (Skoda Fabia MK3, NJ5)

1. Lights

2. Current filter:
   1. no filter: seems ok from the reviews, but some people complain about noise on the screen

3. Connecting to MIB/MIB2:

4. Camera angle:
   1. 130 degrees
   2. Some cameras advertised as 170 degrees but in details they say 140-170 so  I guess it is not really 170
   3. 170 degrees (fisheye). I guess the fisheye would be better to see more even if a bit distorted.
5. Camera sensor:
   1. CCD: I guess CCD is the better option, the bigger the better.
   2. CMOS: ?
6. Camera placement: tailgate door handle vs. the reverse light. 
   1. Tailgate
      1. pros: seems more common
      2. cons: you touch the door handle often
   2. Reverse light
      1. pros: install once, never touch again
      2. cons: ?

You do realise that a fisheye lens does't give a true sense of distance to the subject?

Don't go for wireless cameras as they can be interrupted by the cars FM and DAB antennas, nor would I recommend removing the LED number plate lights and fitting non genuine ones which could cause bulb errors. 

 

I have installed reversing cameras into Fabias for a while now and the one I use it this, its an OEM Style camera. The ones I have gotten have Skoda written on them, and the wiring is perfect. The guide I followed was from Wirer - https://wirer.sk/f3_rear-camera/ 

 

You will need to be willing to pull trim panels off so a good set of trim removal tools is a wise purchase, along with radio keys, and torx screwdrivers. 

 

After fitting you will need a garage to code the Infotainment module of your car to tell it the camera is there.

When using a camera its not recommended to use only the camera, mirrors are still needed. But fish eye lenses for reversing cameras is 100% needed as it gives you full picture from left to right of the car, I use mine A LOT for that extra point of vision. But being a camera, fish eye or not its helpful when reversing up to cars or walls and you want to visually see the distance from the rear to the car/wall.

I agree, use the camera along with the mirrors, but my (AliExpress) aftermarket jobbie has distance and direction markings.  I spent a few minutes checking after I’d first installed it, which means that I can judge distance very accurately.

The lines are really helpful once you've got used to them!
