This video is a VW Golf but it's practically the same. If you look at the video at about 7:40 he said he used heat on the tube to soften the broken plastic piece to get it out....

here we go again lol I got both cables for less than a tenner yet they want 7 quid a clip jeez lol.

Is that the clip on the rear suspension arm ? After buying one from VW, I found that it's possible to "repair " it by bending the locking device. But I've also been told by my MOT man, that my "Temporary" repair to stop the cable dragging was OK with MOT rules ( I simply cable tied the cable to the rear arm). I've got a new clip, but as I've already had one cable fail due to the clip causing corrosion, I'll leave it be, as not broken, don't fix it.

Having got the hand brake working fine, it did not stay that way for long.  Next time working it the same was easier, but it still stuck again and again.  New caliper had to be fitted in the end, which I got a new one for around 33 quid from eBay, solved the problem and means, now winter is here, I don't need to be under the car every few weeks.

As earlier post, I found that one cable had corroded. Changed cable and as temporary measure cable tied cable to rear arm. Mot man was happy with that. But the clips can be opened and repaired.I left cable tie in position as it does not corrode and cause problems

Cheers buddy that no 7 is the ones ive seen you have to replace.

Stewart- I damaged one( cable clip) replacing the cable and used a cable tie on the rear arm. I asked MOT bloke if this was Ok. His reply" it's secure, so I haven't bothered replacing it,but the old clips can be recyled.

My repairs were to MK1 fabia.
