Aircon, brakes, rear wiper ect

I need some help firstly my air-con seems not to work as. The car was sat for a while and it hasn't worked since.

The brakes seem slow and sloppy the brake pad light, TCS/ESP, ABS, ASR button are all illuminated when car is on.

Codes which come up are.

00532 - 034  01/01

00290 - 035  01/01

01273 - 046  01/02

01134 - 100  01/01

00856 - 107  01/03

can replacing the cabin filter allow the aircon to blow as the car was sat for almost 6 months

Also the rear wiper I fixed by replacing a year ago as it stopped permanently well it doesn’t move anymore surely it isn’t the rear wiper motor again do they wear out quickly due to the washer fluid going in between the cogs.

That reads like 2 faults:-

  1. You need new front brake pads (and maybe discs but I'd want to see those first).
  2. You probably have a failed ABS sensor. If those were VCDS codes I'd be fairly sure they would tell you which corner to work on.
  3. You need a moisture content check to confirm/deny this, but you may need to change the brake fluid.

Thanks anything on the aircon as that’s also urgent

Bear in mind the A/C doesn't work below 5C IIRC.

I'd say that this is far more urgent than the aircon - "The brakes seem slow and sloppy the brake pad light, TCS/ESP, ABS, ASR button are all illuminated when car is on."

Lol I literally have to wear gloves and massive jacket due to the cold weather and no heating also means my car front widows and side never get cleared from mist or ice. Do you have any suggestions to fix heating and aircon the back heated window works

I'd start with your first fault code as this could cause any number of electrical issues that may or may not be related to your heating system flap motors not working as they should. Then work through your list.

When you say the Air Con is not working, do you mean the air conditioning or the fan? They’re two separate things and the fan/heater can operate without the air conditioning (cooling/drying) functioning

In my experience, fault 01273 was a failed fan (also called blower motor). They are quite common to fail. But check your fuses first, and also try the fan on all fan speeds. If it works on max speed but none other, likely just the blower motor resistor that has failed.

If it seems like blower motor itself has failed, take out the cabin filter & the fan for a visual inspection. They are easy to access in the passenger footwell.

On our cars, the blower motor comes first and then the filter is after the blower. Unfortunately this design means debris from outside could get sucked in and damage or clog the fan before reaching the filter. If your car sat for a long time, it’s possible a rodent or something got in there and made a nest. So do a visual inspection / clean out before ordering parts :)

Ok thanks will do I’ll check today and yeah the back demister works but when I turn on the heater and air con the dials work but nothing comes out no air flow or heat at all

Have you checked the fuses?

Yeah think they are fine the fuses

Winter coming around again so did you ever get the AC working during a rather warm Summer, or the brakes serviced and working well?
