Morning all

i have a 245 estate, is it possible to put the alarm on but not to activate the interior one as my dog sets it of ,

like if I went for some petrol and want to put the alarm on and lock all doors due to all the dog thefts but really need the alarm on the interior not on

thanks all

Are you sure that animal is not a horse?

Do you have a switch on your lower B pillar to deactivate the interior sensing?

All covered in the owners manual :)

You would know if they were pinching your dog ,cos they would be on a fork truck 😂

A double press of the lock button on the fob does this? Or maybe I’m getting confused and it deactivated the alarm totally and deadlocks.

Double pressing the lock button quickly will disable safelock which also disables interior monitoring and anti-towing protection:

The alarm will still be active but will be using fewer protection methods, these are listed on the page I previously posted in the alarm trigger section :)

I use a double press of lock button on the key fob. You will see the indicator lights flash for each press. Timing is crucial too fast or too slow and I only get a single flash of the indicators and "I think" this means the alarm is still armed.

This has got me baffled, not the dog being the size of a horse, but that the double press disables the internal alarm.

I'm sure on my Mk1 Octavia the double press deadlocked the car but it now seems that is no longer the case.

I've had a Mk2 for 12 years and now Mk 3 .... every night for 14 years I've been disabling the interior alarm thinking I was deadlocking it so it was safe for the night 🤣.

So how do you deadlock a Mk3 then ???

Cheers

Just press the lock button once on the remote.

That puts all the security systems in place.

Thanks folks 👍
