Thanks for that. Not the easiest to use, but issues reported and acknowledged.

Swapped over my Garmin dashcam from the Porsche into the Karoq

Instead of hardwiring/fuse piggyback that I'd done in earlier cars such as my old Arteon or the Tiguan, I decided to buy one of Garmin's OBD socket adaptors - benefit is that it has a built in battery saver function, takes 2 seconds to disconnect completely, and has configurable settings for the battery saver such as 10 minutes, 1 day or continuous power. It comes with 2 USB connections for a 2nd dashcam as well

Popped the side panel off, routed the cable up through the dash innards, secured the USB connections to the inner dash with a sticky pad and ran the power cable under the headlining & A-pillar trim.

Such an easy install, and the camera is obscured from my line of vision by the rear view mirror. I really don't need to see it whilst driving, and can connect wirelessly to it to download any clips, or automatically update speed camera locations, etc

Thought I might have got away with not servicing it during my 2 year lease term which is up in December, but it's been racking up the miles as I've been going into the office 4 or 5 days a week, instead of 3.

It was set for long-life servicing from the start, so a single oil, inspection and filter change service today at Skoda Aberdeen for £264 doesn't seem too painful over the lease term. The Bridgestone 19"s are still at 5-6mm all round after 19k miles so not even close to wearing low.

I can honestly say this one of the most simple & straightforward cars I've ever had - no constant niggles, warning lights, recalls, software updates or everything else that seems to afflict most new cars. I put that down to the "lack" of the latest tech in the car, instead having tried & tested stuff instead. It's just done everything smoothly, reliably and without fuss.

Ride comfort has been fine on the 19s, but our Tiguan with higher profile 19s is definitely a tad more comfortable

It was genuinely difficult to decide what to do 🤔  - whether to look for another Karoq deal, extend this one with Zen or look at other models..

I had thought about extending the lease from 2 to 3 years, but instead have made up my mind to change into something completely different which is scheduled to arrive in October/early November, and Zen.Auto will be taking this back 1-2 months early 🙂

Right decision? Time will tell...
