Have removed panel holding window lift mechanism to repair broken wire. Advice on replacing rivets holding panel please.

You need a riveter capable of taking the rather large size,  ideally the 'lazy-tongs' design or a pneumatic one. 

 

As you're maybe not far away I could possibly lend you tool and spare rivets, if you could put down a suitable deposit? I'm near Abingdon.

Use lazy tongs, the rivets are too big and hard for a conventional riveter, you can buy the correct rivets from your dealer.

or... . if you want the ease of convenience for the future... get a bag of rivnuts so you can bolt it back on and remove again if needed

A bit over the top on a 15 year old car, it'll be another 15 years before it needs to come off again by which time the tinworm will have eaten it.

If you need any rivets they are part number N91078801

 

There are ten in each front door.
