2016 1.6 DSG clutch pack and flywheel

Featured Replies

Recently bought a 2016 1.6tdi 7 speed

it’s done 107000 miles with just a small amount of judder when pulling away the Skoda mechanic said there were no fault codes for the gearbox, just out of interest has any one had a clutch and flywheel done and what ballpark figure is it going to cost

I have the 2.0 tdi and My fly wheel rattled  its self to death  at 90,000 miles and I was £1850 for clutch and fly wheel

I can only think the cost of a DSG clutch pack would be somewhat more than a manual box and likewise, the DMF.

Probably WAY off the mark here, but are you sure it's clutch and flywheel? The judder when you are pulling away does it still do it with Autohold disabled? If only with Autohold enabled see my post on page 82 of the VCDS Adaptions thread. Sounds sort of similar to what I was experiencing in my 65 plate 6 speed DSG

I have spoken to to different DSG specialist as there are no fault codes and flashing from the dash they have said 99% it’s the clutch pack and as it’s now done 108000 I would do the flywheel as well as I will be keeping it till it’s done 250000 miles

No worries pal, there were no fault codes anywhere on mine either, but, like I said I’m no mechanic, just drive them.

My Dad (back in the day when the world was black and white) used to be a master mechanic in motor racing. He always started with the simple things and worked towards the more serious things just like most mechanics did. This was back when fixing cars didn’t include electronics. Me, knowing enough to get by always start with worst case scenario 🙄

At the end of the day they’re the specialists, just seems nowadays there are too many garages trying to cash in on peoples ignorance and desperation whilst upping their profits.

All the best anyway, and hope you get it all fixed without having to donate body parts to pay for it 🙂
