12 reg with a columbus media unit, what sd cards and cds accepted?

Featured Replies

I need to put some audio tracks onto the hard drive into the car (niche personal use), because there is an unacceptable 7 second Bluetooth delay on the phone, and aux input from phone doesn't work at all.

Problem is that it wouldn't recognise the sd card I put into the unit. Is there anything on amazon that anyone knows would definitely work?

I could also use a cd, but what sort of disc, CD R/ or RW(rewritable)? If I manually burn to a cd, what are the accepted formats?

I've had an assortment of SDHC/SDXC cards in mine and they've worked fine. I wouldn't bother loading stuff onto the internal HDD - read times from the SD card are much faster. MP3 format definitely works, not sure about other compressed formats.

It takes forever to copy to the HDD. But I like having stuff on it.

there is an old post somewhere here that details what size sd card will work with which columbus part number.

I have used 32gb in my 2012 car but as i stream through bluetooth i have not investigated bigger.

I think the max size of SD card you can use is 32G in the Columbus
