Rapid 2016 1.2 oil got into coolant

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Looks like i got engine oil inside my collant reservoir.

The mechanic told me that this model doesn't have oil cooler unit, so it must be the engine gasket problem and it need to be replaced.

My question is of he is right?  I wonder if 8 need to take to other shop for further checking.

Thank you all

Sounds like the head gasket.

Is there white gunge in the engine oil filler cap?

Hi,

No, the oil looks perfectly clean.

Do you know if there is a cooler unit in this model?

You'll need to be more specific about the engine. There appears to be 5 possible 1.2 engines that you might have: Škoda Rapid (2012) - Wikipedia

At least one of those has an oil cooler near the oil filter (item 13 here): LLLParts

Is the car losing coolant?

nope, it has more coolant fluid as the oil getting inside.

so the level showing above the MAX point.

If i'm not mistaken i have the CBZA engine.

Then it appears that you do have an oil cooler, near the oil filter.

Thank you  for the assistance,

Indeed this appear to be the issue.

I took it to other shop which specialize in VW where they drain and  clean the whole cooling system and replaced the oil coller.

Thank you  guys

That's great news, but a bit surprising that it failed so 'young'.
