Superb 1.6tdi 2013 Oil Pressure Sensor Location

Featured Replies

Evening all, I'm looking for help with a oil pressure sensor.

I know where it is and how to get to  it.

BUT..every socket,spanner ( 24mm ) just doesn't reach it.

My question was could I remove or move the plate next too it for better access or is the plate attached to something inside??

Ps I've had it changed once and the mechanic took around 2 hours and charged £110.

It still comes up on the dash and I've bought a genuine sensor from Skoda, rather £5.10 from Ebay.

Thank you in advance.

Can you not smash the plastic parts out of the way and then use a 24mm socket on the remains?

Or a borrow/buy a deep reach socket that will fit over it.

I could do but the gap between the top plate( s ) is very narrow. Ideally want to know if I can remove it.

I am sure that is the engine lift bracket held on bt 3 bolts one is a triple square..

Or

24mm thin walled deep socket from Amazon

Impact sockets are not usually thin walled, in fact usually the opposite, a box spanner would be though.

I would be checking all the wiring connections & cables for integrity before struggling to replace a second sensor.

Editted, I agree that removing the bracket would be the best option, I don't think that was in the now editted posting when I read it.

Thank you Delboy will try the deep socket. The engine lift bracket sounds risky.

J.R if I do remove the bracket is there risk of damage. Its a engine lift bracket. Stupid question but does it mean the engine is attached to these bolts.

Thanks in advance

FINALLY !!!! Removed the one single nut on the  housing, which is a triple square but I used a T50 Torx bit. Moved the housing aside and after almost a week I used a 24mm spanner and changed the sensor.

Went for a spin round the block and no warning on dash. Will drive to work later and see what happens. Fingers crossed.
