The Octavia MK2 VRS uses front shock absorbers with either OEM part number 1T0413031HK or 1T0413031HP depending on the car's build codes as shown in the chart below.

Bilstein 22-131614 isn't listed for either of these two OEM part numbers, and therefore isn't suitable for the Octavia MK2 VRS.

Although the autodoc listing for the Bilstein 22-131614 gives the following general guide, you do have to check the actual OEM part number for suitability

  • SKODA Octavia II Hatchback (1Z3) (Year of Construction 02.2004 - 06.2013, 75 - 200 PS, Diesel, Petrol, Petrol/Ethanol, Petrol/Petroleum Gas (LPG))
  • SKODA Octavia II Combi (1Z5) (Year of Construction 02.2004 - 06.2013, 75 - 170 PS, Diesel, Petrol, Petrol/Ethanol, Petrol/Petroleum Gas (LPG))

These were wrongly supplied by Bilstein uk. They do not give an equivalent OEM part no  just général fit.

autodoc lists the Bilstein 22-131614 as suitable to replace the following OEM part numbers. autodoc are selling a new pair for about £140, so you could probably ask quite a bit more than your £40 asking price.

That may be a manufacturer's code of some sort, but it doesn't look like an OEM part number.

i thought the £40 price was okay as collection only. They are taking up garage space now and rather than going to waste might be useful to someone ?

But many thanks for the info on this.

Good point about collection only, as clearly it would only suit someone local.

However, it wouldn't be too difficult to wrap them in cardboard (perhaps old cornflakes packets) and post them economically by myHermes.

About £5.80 up to 5kg for shipping by myHermes

https://www.myhermes.co.uk/send-a-parcel#/

Then you could maybe charge £80 including postage, and still get a quick sale...perhaps on ebay.

I would state clearly than these are 55mm struts and not the smaller 50mm struts...as that's an easy mistake for many folks to make.

People would probably be searching for new "Bilstein 22-131614" and the cheapest price on ebay. Most sellers on ebay are asking over £120 for two.
