Anyone had any luck removing rear passenger door molding/ trim?

Featured Replies

Just wondering if it is possible to remove and replace the trim off my car. One bit is a bit damaged and looking to replace it. Saw on a youtube video some times it's glued on?

Thanks for reading!

Slide dental floss or similar smooth/strong behind the strip and saw the adhesive to free it.

Is there any future in applying gentle heat using a hair dryer, before using the dental floss?

Yes but it takes some time for the panel and trim to heat, easier to tackle it when the car's been sat in strong sunshine or use lots of boiling water as it can never exceed 100C.

Residual adhesive can be removed with liberal soaking in WD-40 or quickly with a petrol soaked rag, wash thoroughly with when finished.
