Called in for warranty audit?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I had a warranty repair last year. All is fine with it.

Last week I was called by the local dealership and asked to drop the car in for a 'warranty repair audit'. Is this an actual thing? Or is the dealership avoiding telling me they concerns re the previous repair? Thank you.

Spoke to the manager. Apparently vw group audit the warranty repairs that are carried out. At random they ask for a few cars to be brought back in for the work to be vetted. Mine was requested....

Got a valet and fuel out of it. Thanks guys.

@yeleek  Are they not paying you the Dealerships hourly rate?  Cheeky barstewards.

The next service done Free Gratis is the minimum that should be expected from them.

?

What was the actual Warranty work that was done and do you know the cost of the work that was done under the warranty?

Was this a Manufacturers Warranty or an Extended one?

Doesn't that make the dealer (assuming the audit is done by the same dealer that did the warranty work) both "poacher" and "game keeper"?

The dealer won’t be doing it. There will be a VW audit rep doing the work.

If it is the Dealership & it's staff being 'Audited' by 'the Warranty Proveded so VW Group and wiling volunteers are being asked to bring in their vehicle then a proper amount of payment is the fair thing.

After the car has been given a proper inspection and report done an extra years Warranty cover would cost them nothing as there should be no claims on a well maintained car.

If it is marketing or part of VW Group knowledge gathering for their 'All in Warranties' then they are taking the pith.

If people are fine with fuel and a valet then that is their business.

If someone is going to be vacuuming the car and giving the exterior some new swirl marks then they could go whistle.
