Central locking issue

Featured Replies

Right i need some help here as i discovered this today and im worried that itll result in the car being nicked.

I get out of the car and press the lock button on the fob

Drivers, passengers and rear doors and boot all lock.

Then drivers side rear passenger unlocks itsself and exactly the same thing occasionally happens with front passenger door

Ontop of this, the key doesnt work in the barrel, asif there is no barrel or pins in there.

Anyone help?

That normally happens when the door lock micro switches are playing up, the system sends the lock signal and looks for the confirmed lock signal but if the lock signal is missing it unlocks that door as it thinks it's open, a VCDS scan should highlight the problem, the door locks are cheap on eBay they are Chinese copies but seem to work well

As above, I have mentioned the kits I used on mine. At £17 each, it's worth replacing them.

Mine was due to cut wires in drivers door, within the plastic bellows.

the fact they are locking and then unlocking, id wager its the microswitches too.

can vouch the chinese ebay specials are fine. used one on my old mk1 and it worked flawlessly for the 2yrs i still had the car after fitting it.
