revo trial

Featured Replies

Oh the age old REVO discussion...possibly even more thought provoking than "which colour" or "RS vs 4x4x". ;)

How about considering APR....after all they have a very good rep and do the OBD programming. Have a couple of members who have had this done...Huck and ColinD.

Costs around the same as REVO and as of yet there's been no "complaints". Also APR has a good reputation and are well established.

A good person to ask about the Jabba/REVO comparison would be Bill (Badger5). He runs 2 Jabbered motors and is a REVO dealer.

At the end of the day though its a peronsal choice and as long as your happy that's all that matters.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Horses for courses is'nt it.

Serial Port Programming is a 'nice' non invasive method of uploading the performance code. REVO were 1st for VAG cars in the UK, and many others are now bringing out this method of 'chipping' your car.

quality of code, options of switching, boost controllers, cruise control switching etc are all differentiators. Price, quality of service, after sales support are all 'choices'.

Full REVO code seems fine in my experience. Trial code is'nt fully enabled for outright performance and can revert after its 5 hours to an ' adapted down' stock programme, if the ecu has seen the need to run more conservative settings during the trial period etc.... (hot day, low Ron fuel maximum pasty driving etc :p)

some REVO dealers have the RR facility for before and after.

SPS3 allows users to play with further ignition and boost

Jabba are very experienced with Skoda's by simple nature that they've done so many (from here :) )

My non-answer ;) is BOTH are places to consider.

Soon most tuners will be employing Serial Port Programming as the method to upload performanmce code.

Bill,

Have you ever revo'ed an RS, if you have what were the results like and have you any torque/BHP graphs for it.

What sort of boost can one run with the SPS3 and can high boost be held.

Cheers Des

I have Trialed a few vRS's but not done a full code on one.

1.4bar on SPS3 would'nt be unheard of... peak if nto sustained... 1bar to red line on a goodun.

The Octy seems to respond best of all 20VT's I think, with loads of room for goodies like larger FMIC etc.. :D
