I was just wondering what tyres the RS comes with?

Mine came with Goodyear Eagle F1 Sport's which I'm quite happy with, haven't had Goodyear's on a vehicle for a long time but these seem to be a good all rounder and no complaints as yet, will likely run these again as long as the price is competitive.

I have also those tires. I have to say, they are exceptional on the dry road. I have feeling that I am riding the tracks. No feel of understeer at all. I do not have chance yet to try them more on wet road, but for the tires from factory I am happy with them. I do not have comparison with other, but seems to me a little bit noisy and what I red, they are wear off quite quickly. So I will see how long they will hold up. For the next one I will probably try SportContact 6/7 or Asymmetric 5/6. I will see.

my goodyear eagle f1,on my last car a v60 volvo.did not last 11000 miles.i checked tire pressure often even the car would warn me of low tire pressures.i even took the car to the the garage to check everything out.they could find no problems with the tracking etc.what got me the wear was on all 4 wheels not the front set in which we all know wear faster.i have put it down to a dodgy set of tires[came from quick fit]i know the manger well and he could not see any problems with them either.

I've had Goodyear Eagle F1's on my last 2 cars and had only good experience.

On my Audi RS4 they lasted over 15,000 miles  - 50% longer than the OE fit Pirelli PZero Rosso, the same as two versions of the Michelin Pilot and only beaten by the Vredenstein Sessanta which made 18,000 miles.

On my Octavia after 20,000 miles over 5 years they needed to be replaced not because of wear but because of sidewall cracking, most likely caused by being parked in the strong Devon sun all year round.

I started driving my vehicle at the beginning of the confinement in 2020, the date code on the Hankook Ventus Prime tyres is 2018, I don't know how many miles they had done, they had reasonably good tread but not new.

After 20K miles of my driving they had 5-5.5mm tread remaining, I have now done 31K miles and they all have around 4mm remaining with a slight gradient wearing the outsides 1mm more than the insides, I have rotated them and also dropped the pressures last time as they were wearing more in the centre than the outsides, that seems to have evened out now and I should probably go up a couple of PSI.

I fully expect to get 40K + miles out of them before they hit the tread wear markers or one gets to the legal limit on one part of the tread, an unknown mileage should be added to this for the time before I bought the car, it had averaged 20K per year, probably higher taking into account that it was a write off and may have been off the road for a few months, I reckon it had had a new set of tyres at 35k and 70K.

I am astonished at how long these tyres have lasted, regular rotation has helped and I think the 4WD system reduces tyre wear on the front axle and overall.

Common problem with summer tyres left on all year

The UV is only one factor, so is using them in cold weather when the polymer is harder and causes hairline cracks until you have driven far enough to warm up the tyres.

Cracking doesn’t seem to be a problem for those who use winter tyres in colder weather, which suggests it is not just UV, but using them at inappropriate temperatures.   Of course if you want to keep same tyres all year should be buying all season tyres

what tyres do skoda fit onto there octavia vrs 4x4 estate cars

What they got deliveries of at the time and were mounted on the wheels.

So that was maybe months ago or last year for some cars getting delivered this year.

It could be anything on your car and you will only know what when it arrives.

What he said; whatever they got the best price for 10_000 of the last time they were buying $size.

Sorry to bump this thread. Anyone given the contisportcontact 7's a go? Need to swap my fronts and currently have the F1 supersports, feel they have worn quite quickly at 13k miles.

Continental sport contact 7 are new tyre, so if anyone has them won’t have been on long.   They are a summer tyre rather than all year (all season) tyre

I would suggest swapping the tyres front to back when you wear the treads down to about 4.5mm on front to even out the wear.  If you wear them much beyond that then there is a risk of tail slides if you put tyres with low tread on the back.

It's that time of year again when it gets cold.

UHP summer tyres turn into ULP winter tyres below about 7 degrees Centigrade.

Vredestein Quatrac tyres are one of the best tyres for use in cold, wet weather. Just read the reviews. In cold rain, the Michelin CrossClimate 2 took over 5% longer to stop than the Vredestein Quatrac Pro.
