Help- 2010 Skoda problem.

Featured Replies

I've purchased a skoda in 2019, now having a problem with it and took it to garages & they can't get to the bottom of it.

Had CAM sensor, timing belt changed!

Heater plugs & engine light is on, causing the car to go into limp mode- when plugged in error code is coming up with Turbo bost.

I've spent loads on having it plugged in can anyone say they've had the same problem or if they know the cause.

Help us a little(!) what is the code?!

Welcome to the forum?

Is it a 1.6TSI or a 1.2TDI?

A mod might move this to the Fabia Mk2 section.

Error code P2147.

Sokda fabia 1.6 Tdi. On log book its down as Mk1

Quick google search doesn’t bring up turbo, but this …. Also pretty sure a 2010 Fabia is mk2

this was previous code, current code is P2425! Can this cause the car to go into limp mode?

as heater plugs are flashing and then won't go over 30mph.

Jeez, you’re not making this easy for us!

The new code you’ve given looks like it relates to egr valve. Still not a turbo specific code.

Have a read;

The flashing glow plug I believe is your cars version of an engine management light coming on.

Maybe someone who knows this model better may be able to confirm this.

Regardless, the ecu has detected an issue with the engine management and has put it in limp mode, hence not going over 30mph.

I've been to soo many garages & they've been telling me different.

I've had egr valv changed in june 2020.

Dpf sensor 2020,

Timing belt & cam sensor as it was idling and cutting out.

It’s not out of the realms of possibility that the egr has gone again in all honesty.

Is this an intermittent problem? When it occurs have you tried switching the engine off and on again? If so, did this sort it, even if temporarily?

Where exactly did you get “when plugged in error code is coming up with Turbo bost.” from and can you post the code that related to this?

The first code you posted related to injectors…. Has any investigation happened for that code? Or is that why the cam sensor was changed, so you know?

OK, can you state exactly the engine capacity and trim level badges please? (eg 1.9 TDi Elegance, 1.2 TDi 2) This will at least clear up whether the car is a late mk1 or a mk2.

Wasn’t one of the last mk1’s registered in 2009, therefore making this mk2? as it’s a 2010?

Better still, post a pic of the car :tongueout:

That was what was in my mind, yeah 👍

If a 1.6 TDI it is a Euro 5 & a Mk2 Fabia.   Regardless of what a V5 says.

Likely had the VW Emission fix, so the Engine Management software update and the flow device in the Air Intake.

DPF sensor change makes this a Mk2, and also already stated as a 1.6TDI. I would strongly suggest getting the car read for error codes with VCDS as "many garages" may be using a generic reader. While unrelated to this issue, I would also personally do what I have told the person in the below post to do regarding a bluetooth OBD2 and Torque app, and also DPF Free as you can look for boost values and also DPF loading. This would allow you to provide some genuine information to allow people to comment on.

Also @AnnoyingPentium - The very last mk1s were registered when they were registered. I was asking for information NOT dependent on the date of first registration.

 It's mk 1.

Ive taken it to a garage they've been telling me the problems (codes) I've paid out and I've lifted bonnet and seen that one of the pipes have cracked so it could be that.

I've booked it in to have another look at and if it's a lot £££ I'll look for a new one.

Where?

M1 is a type of vehicle classification. You can read up on it here.

It doesn't. It says "M1", which is a type approval number meaning that it's a car, with a limited production run.

For crying out loud, the OP stated the car was a 2010 1.6TDI right near the top so it cannot POSSIBLY be a Mark 1.

Let's solve the problem instead of getting hung up on misunderstandings and nomenclature!

Don't keep going to different garages, go to an independent VW specialist near you, don't forget a Skoda Fabia is really a VW Polo in disguise, so a VW guy will be able to fix it.

We all know this ...... just trying to educate someone who doesn't.
