cd stuck in radio (škoda octavia 2006) on original radio

Featured Replies

when i press the cd eject button radio does nothing. there is no sound coming from the ejection mechanism as it used to do when it worked,. it just displays cd error and switches to fm radio although it plays the same cd perfectly. Type of the radio is original škoda stream radio. i would like to know is there a way to get the cd out or do i have to go to a mechanic. I would be thankful for any response

@FGYPG70I think you might have to remove the Stream Radio out of the car and dissemble it.

Your only other option I can think of is to get another stream radio from a scrapyard for better buy an android radio from Aliexpress like what I did and you'll have Navigation and Bluetooth Streaming.

I had this... technically, I still have!  Queen's Greatest Hits has been stuck for three years come January.  No garage has ever had any joy.  Never been so inclined to pay for repairs as we've got a cheap BlueTooth adapter instead.

If it is similar to the radio fitted to MK1 Octavias, there were many illustrates threads on how to disassemble, retrieve the CD and reaseble again. See if they are still there.

Basically it is just a case of taking it apart and remembering where the various springs go.

Had this once on an older Stream head unit. Cd stuck for weeks. It was a really really bad one as well. Think trying to put another one in as well caused it to spit the old one out or it just spontaneously spat it out one day. Can't recall which.

Mine did this in the week then the battery on the car was flat over two days of non driving.

I have read that faulty radios can contribute to flattening batteries, did you experience the same?

No issues with the battery at all; it's a physical fault I think with the ejection mechanism rather than an electrical one.

And it's still in there!
