Turn lights sound are missing

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Recently my skoda octavia II misses the turn lights sound.

Does anyone have an idea what this could be and how can this be solved (without going to spend a lot of money in the skoda shop).

Cheers.

Hi,

Sounds like a dash pod problem, as the "tick" is produced by a small speaker on the back, not a relay as years ago.

Hope this helps,

Hi,

thanks for your help.

Do you have further details on how the debug the problem and how to solve it?

Cheers.

It's not something you can scan it sounds like a driver fault on the circuit board, could  be as simple as a "dry joint" or another dash pod.

Where are you based?, I'm in Milton Keynes.

Lisbon, Portugal.

OOOO That's a bit too far:biggrin:

Maybe worth getting hold of a 2nd hand one and swapping the speaker from that, otherwise you have to reprogramme the immobiliser and radio code as they are stored in the dash pod.

I assume 1Z will be the same or very similar.

Just take your time, take photos on mobile as you got and as they say reassembly is reverse of above procedure, but don't have the soldering iron too hot, just enough to melt the solder.

You will be fine.

Just looked at the link you sent, and further down the page I found one for a MK5 Golf 1Z and it's the same, well same photo, fire off an email and ask if it's the same?

Hello,

Unfortunately, I can not answer that.

Here please open the speedometer and look which speaker was really installed.

Typical answer that one, I think a bit of CMA came into play?

It's the same on all photos on the website.

Maybe it's time to bite the bullet and have a look?

I would appreciate a silent turn indicator but it's a requirement in the UK, maybe not in Portugal.

My Treg (2013) has no audible sounds for the indicators (I wish it did at times) and afik there is no legal requirement for an audio warning only when a trailer is connected but that can be replaced with a warning light

Thanks for the heads-up.

Sure enough, it's not mentioned in the MOT Inspection Manual, so much for casual garage talk that mentioned both an audible and visual tell-tale was mandatory.
