what sort of price would I be looking for a timing belt change ?? 
2010 VRS would there be anything else to replace like the  water pump ???

Thanks mate really appreciate that and yeah like you say at least I’ve got a starting point 

The Skoda increase last year to £600 led me look elsewhere. I found garage that specialises in VAG cars and they charged just under £500 including water pump and antifreeze.

If it's really a 2010 then it most likely has a timing chain, not a belt!
