Sorry.

The photos stored in my pc of the latest modifications (mine and the technician's which sends them to me via viber) are over a 1000 so it's very easy for a misunderstanding to happen.

Besides i was smart enough to make a patent, i was not ignorant to suggest to another guy destroy the sheet metal of his 5th door to fit a rubber part.

Sorry for the late reply.

This is what I came up with until I can find original grommet either new or used:

Wow! That's looking good. I'd also apply some black silicone sealant to cover the gaps between rubber fittings and the plastic hose.

Good work.

I'll probably use your design. Mine is completely destroyed. 😞  Wrapped with electrical insulation tape.

To be honest I like your repair

Thank you, tbh I don't think water will go inside as both the holes were opened (without the grommet and the wiring) for about a month and there wasn't wet after raining.

Excellent job !

Simple-cheap silicone won't last more than a year, you have to apply silicone for aquarium:

to be sure at least for 10 years.

The worst ''enemy'' is the bending procedure every time you close the trunk door, after some time a ''crack'' can show-up in the plastic tube, happened to me twice but let's hope that won't happen to you.

While organizing my folders on the computer i have found another 2 pictures from the procedure that the electrician send me back then:

The first attempts by me to ''cover'' the problem didn't last long.

So a patent by a Pro with the front door grommet is done, the photos are from May 2021.

Is there any chance to be a mistake, because the front door grommet has quite different shape compared to this patent and there is no such arrow?

1st photo: the original with ''scrap work'' by me which didn't last long.

2nd: the patent from the mechanic which ''married'' 2 grommets.

Some others as example. Different provider from different country-year so different stamps, shapes etc.
