Self-winding windows

Featured Replies

Yesterday my wife left the Roomster in a carpark and when she came back all four windows had dropped down on their own to about halfway. This is obviously quite a security risk and very disconcerting. I suspect a damaged driver’s door to body wire, but I am looking for any other thoughts and suggestions.

On my Octavia if you press and hold the unlock button the windows will go down and they will close if you press and hold the lock button. There have been cases of people accidently pressing the unlock button on the keyfob whilst it has been in their pocket and they have sat or bent down. Could that be the case for your wife? I do not know the range of the signals from the keyfob.

Thanks for this, I didn't know that this a feature. It could well be what happened.

This works also on the Roomster. This feature should have been mentioned in the owner's manual. Another omission is the double depress of unlock button to lock all doors as one press opens just the driver's door. How many other features are available but not logged?
