Will mk1 Octavia vRS wheel fit onto 5J Fabia?

Featured Replies

Possibly buying an Octavia vRS wheel & would like to know whether it will fit as it is or whether I will need to change any wiring.

Yes it will.

The rim will fit.

The tyre won't fit, as the outside diameter of a 205/50R17 or 225/45R17 tyre is too big for the Fabia MK2.

If you use a 205/40R17 tyre, the ride will be really hard, and the rim will have little protection from pothole damage.

If the seller is selling the wheels with 205/40R17 tyres already fitted, some of the rims might already be buckled from pothole damage. If you fit them to the car and they vibrate, the seller might blame you for buckling them rather than admitting (and refunding you) that they were already buckled. So if you do really want 17" rims, make sure they were previously only used with 205/50R17 or 225/45R17 tyres, as these have much bigger sidewalls and are therefore much more resistant to pothole damage.

I think he means a steering wheel. Not an alloy wheel from an Octavia.

Also @Carlston - That's how I read it too.
