i know th ewire of the light but i dont seem to get it to trigger

If the car didn't previously have this function you will need to change the instrument cluster coding to enable it.

 

it was an elegance vejicle so it had this function

 

Run out of screenwash would be the obvious answer... alternatively, check that the bulb isn't blown. This is all fine and well as long as you had this warning light in the first place. Otherwise I don't think it's worthwhile to retrofit it.

Exactly how you test the "low screenwash" light on my Elegance; let the screenwash drop below 0.5l left in tank.

I don't have such luxuries to warn me of when I'm going to run out. I use it, and when it runs out, I use the little litre bottle I have in the boot to top it up enough to keep me going.

TBH it's an FVCKing nuisance, because you have a warning light and buzzer just to say "screenwash low".

That, and it's made worse by the Fabia having a bladder like an old lady.

Does the engine coolant shortage warning work? (unplug it to check).

They share an earth connection.
