Which models have travel mode? (driving on the right)

Featured Replies

Hi, I have seen that some Škoda models have something called 'travel mode', but this doesn't seem to be present on my vehicle?

I have a SCALA SE, so was wondering why I am not able to see this option in settings? Or is it something that automatically switches based on the country that you are in?

Thanks.

Not sure why you're linking Travel Mode with driving on the right... but my UK spec Karoq has Travel Mode, activated by a button on the steering wheel. It may have been provided as part of the Driver Assist option, but in practice doesn't seem to do much more than activate the Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Assist. I've only use it once in a year and a half, while driving down the M74/A74/M6 with little other traffic around.

Now whether you could have it on your car by modifying the car's software is another story - but if you don't have the button on your steering wheel I'm not at all sure how you could turn it on and off quickly.

Sorry,  should have clarified - I mean the feature that switches the direction of the lights when abroad.

OK, my Karoq has LED lights and a setting in the menus that alters the dip beam when driving in Europe, But it doesn't claim to do this automatically (although when I first had the car it twice changed the beam setting for me when driving in Stafford! However this fault seems to have been cured by  software update.)

I don't know the details for all Skoda models, but cars without LED headlights generally have to use stick-on beam deflectors as they do not have a menu setting to adjust the lights. Does your Scala have LED headlights or tungsten? What does your owner's manual say about adjusting the headlight beam?

That always used to be called Tourist Mode.

I assumed that all modern cars had LEDs these days.

in the manual, it says that it does have this feature and describes where to find it but I can’t see it.

From the latest Scala owners manual:

Looking at the latest Scala brochure:

Based on that, I would say you don't have adaptive headlights and therefore you won't have a LHD/RHD switchover available. You'll need to use traditional stickers/beam benders I'm afraid.

Just taken delivery of an Octavia. If you have Travel mode it's under "headlights, drive on the right" option.
