Glow plug light flashing WHAT NOW??? 🤣

Featured Replies

Morning peeps,

took my lad to work and for some reason the glow plug light started flashing about a minute and half then went off,, couple of mins later same thing but on for a bit longer,, have no loss of power no codes and she sounded fine,,, any ideas??  I’ve had a bit of a Google and I’m getting possibly rear brake light sensor ?? Looked on pedal and I can’t see anything (2010 VRS)

Or something possibly to do with vacuum ?? Maybe??? Is it something I could have maybe moved or knocked when I did my inlet??? Other than that I did hoover it last Saturday so can’t be needing another vacuum surely 🤣🤣,;

thanks peeps ,,

Check your brake light bulbs and brake fluid level.

Cheers mate,,, bulbs are all ok but yeah my fluid is rather low??? I’ll top it up and see if that helps,, really appreciate the help, never thought to check the fluid 🤣

Fingers crossed! It's one of those faults that can be a right headache.

Does it come on with DPF regen?

Hi mate,,

I’ve never had the regen light come on but my revs occasionally do hold at 1000rpm so I take it for a blast down the bypass near me 20 mins at 60/70 mph that seems to work for a week or so,, when car gets warm it seems to stop doing it but I’ve now had P2563 code a lot but still no performance loss even with the EML on

I'm not familiar with the dash lights for the diesels. My lad had a BMW which had a glow plug in the DPF to help it burn. I just wondered if it was using the same light here to indicate a regen in process. Sounds like Skoda have a distinct dash light for that.
