Superb Estate Bumper Top Protection

Featured Replies

Hey,

Anyone had experience of the bumper protectors you can buy online to stop scuffs when loading and unloading the boot?

if anyone has one of the carbon effect or stainless steel ones fitted, I’d love to see pics!

Cheers!

A colleague has a plain black one on his combi and it looks OE.

I have a plain black one from eBay, cost about £35 and it looks very clean and fits nicely.

The OEM one is a £80 piece of clear paint protection film that isnt amazing.

I just picked up the OEM boot liner mat which has a fold out mat to cover the boot lip and bumper. I plumped for that to try and keep the ‘standard’ look.

Heaps of choices from Kopacek - carbon, gloss, stainless steel, plain.

I've got the plain version - looks OEM.

Ahh this is actually more along the lines of what I’m after - thanks!! Where did you source yours? Does the mat sit firmly in place or does it fix to the existing floor in some way?

Most of the protectors I see online state they are for the combi (Estate??) and one on Amazon states for Liftback. Will they fit the hatchback model?

I got mine from a dealer, but it's cheaper from here:

The mat sits in/on the boot floor. The 'flaps' clip to it when it's folded on top - there are flaps to fold out to protect the seat backs when they're down, and the boot cover flap sits inbetween them when it's folded away.

I have one of those. It’s great but won’t help idiot-brain here from dragging the Missus 80kg case out of the boot and catching the bumper.

I'm assuming you mean you forget to use it as the fold out bit covers the entire bumper by the look of it?

Assumption wrong, but yes,  it does practically cover the bumper, but the issue is because once there’s luggage/stuff in the boot, one has to actually remove said luggage/stuff to get access to the fold out bit to unfold it across the bumper. Bit of a cart before horse, which in this case = “hmmmm… simply a bit dumb, that one…”

Photos of how the boot buddy one folds:

Great! Is it easy to ensure it doesn't block the lock mechanism? it looks like it could easily get in the way...

If you dont have a dog cage it will just sit flat in a little stack at the edge of the boot.

With mine it obviously sits vertically, but it's never stopped the door closing
