New key case and board ??

Morning peeps,,

has anyone opened there key or more to the point would anyone know if my key has the glass tube for the immobiliser??? My case is worn and was wondering if you new anything about the inside’s?? This is my key fob below was also wondering if I could swap the board over and see if that helps with using the remote buttons as mine don’t flash even after several batteries

Good morning Hardy, I believe it's located between the LED indicator and the key release button. 

Are you sure you need the 'innards replacing?  You can find replacement shells online and just transplant your old innards and key into the new case.

My light doesn’t even flash when I press the buttons I’ve changed the battery 4 times using different brands and still don’t even flash 🤣,, guessing it’s knackered so would need a new board and hope that makes the light work and then see about syncing it up

guessing something like this would be about right ??? 

If you change the immobiliser and also (I believe) the board you would have to recode the key to the car.  I've never had to do that but there should be plenty of 'howtos' on the Tube.

Was going to take my immobiliser glass tube out of my key and stick it on the new board and then put that in the new housing,,,
