Ive a few issues with my sons Fabia and will post different issues separately, the issue with the windows are strange, the drivers and passenger window all work but sometimes a down press can actually send the window up,, the passenger window switch only works going up but the drivers button works to lower it. the drivers side  window works fine but also has a tendency to go up when pressed down and sometimes it goes right up then comes down on its own.

Ive read a long thread regarding windows but could not seem to find the problem listed above, any pointers guys ?

Sounds odd.

First thing I would be tempted to do is check the part number of the motor module fitted on driver's side. Photo of the Skoda part number label would be ideal.

It ought to be a 6Y2959802 with SK240DDRS as the bottom line of the label if original.  If you can get a photo that includes the Temic part label too on the electronics housing, that would be good to see if the date codes match approximately, in case you have a hybridised thing.

Thanks pete I'm not able to take the panel of yet but as soon as i do i will let you know, I'm not sure if its worth buying some replacement switches as the rocker mechanism could be worn, on ebay i can only see mk2 window switches, will these fit a mk1 ?

Sounds as though you definitely need a replacement for the passenger side switch, not sure about drivers side yet.

I doubt that mk2 Fabia ones will be drop-in replacements.

 

6Y0 959 855 looks to be the passenger door window switch for mk1, the mk2 has a different part number.

Thanks pete,i'm looking  for a new drivers one to have you a number for that ? god i'm a pain,ive purchased a haynes manual but i'm looking for some kind of service parts catalogue any ideas it will stop me asking you lol, i'm also after a place to order parts apart from ebay

I had this happen to mine, I disconnected the battery and reset the windows using the key and all was well and has been ever since.

Reset by putting the key in the drivers door lock and twisting anti clockwise and holding it there until the windows both open fully, then release, twist clockwise and hold until both windows shut fully, this will reset one touch and also restore the correct sense.
