So my mot has come around and my car failed in a tyre and exhaust blow, tyre is a screw no problem I get that is a safety thing but when I asked main dealership about an exhaust I was told 800 quid… because it’s a one piece exhaust is this correct or someone trying to pull my plonker???

They aren't one piece to my knowledge, are you petrol or diesel?
