Alternative to steering squib 5K0.953.569.E

Hi my steering squib has failed and it would appear to be near impossible to get a replacement. Anyone know of any alternatives ?

If you mean clockspring there are lots of options, from the whole part to just replacing the ribbon cable.

And used on fleabay but check you are looking at the 'E' variant.

 

NB skoda-parts.com quote the same part as fitting both the Yeti and the Octavia 2 so maybe looking for a used Octy 2 part would be better & cheaper.

You may struggle to find a part that has been superseded.

So try and use this part number and try a fresh search 5K0 953 569 AL this is £251.12 +VAT from main dealer.

I got one from a breaker on eBay, price was £30 ish from memory.

Repair it for zero cost and a few minutes soldering!
