Water inside left driver seat.

Featured Replies

Hello.
When it rains, water drips onto the left side of the mat.  Driver side.
I don't really know where it comes from, but it comes when it rains or when I wash the car at the car wash.  The entire mat is filled then the bottom under the mat.  it drips on my left foot right around by the handle to the front cover or the obd connector.

Anyone know what it could be.  ?

Have you got a sunroof?

They are prone to leaking

I have a panoramic roof.  but nothing visible comes down from there.

Which is the driver's side? You've not told us and it's pretty critical to my idea.

left side (EU steering wheel).  it comes close to the obd input jack.  it might be the door or maybe the front.

If it was a panoramic roof then the water should come directly from the sunroof, do we agree on that?

Ok; water gathering in the plenum chamber for the pollen filter is a possibility then. As is the train for the LH wheel arch being choked at the bottom.

I had rain coming in a while back on drivers side but wasn’t bad ( but shouldn’t be doing it)

removed scuttle panel to look, removed a rubber grommet above drivers pedal area and sealed that but didn’t think that would have been it.

Also sealed the bolt hole on passenger side for LHD wiper mount as been reported in past.

It was fine for a few weeks, then I couldn’t drive due to knee op so wife ended up having to drive me to hospital ( normally she doesn’t drive it as she sez it’s to big).

she drives down the drive ( slopes down to garage) I reverse down.

Windscreen got chipped and cracked on motorway coming back from hospital and she drove down drive ( this was other week when red hot so never rained) and car never moved for 2 week

First time it rained it poured in, turned out windscreen wasn’t bonded and water was running down A post pillar trim in to dash and dripping in to foot well.

pics of where windscreen wasn’t bonded

I’ve video of it leaking in but file is to big and unsure what to do.

I do not understand.  my pollen filter is on the opposite side.  i.e. in the right front seat.  and my driver's side is on the left front.  Could it still be the pollen filter?

Ah no. I'm used to the pollen filter being on the left side.

Hi. I have been to 2 different workshops where one workshop immediately said that I have to go to Skoda to troubleshoot it.  The other workshop investigated and took money for spending time on it.  And they say that Skoda is the only one that can do it as it comes up from the panoramic roof.  I then went to Skoda who told me that it would probably cost about 15-1700 dollars to make it.  and they only have time in 3 weeks.

I then instead drove over to a 3 workshop at my friend's, and we then found out that it was the drain (pipe) that was blocked.  It got air pressure through so it started draining out again.
Here I think there are probably some amateur workshops.  There are currently  no more water into my car.  it has been standing in rainy weather for a week and received lots of buckets of water.
