Increasing Steering Feel on a Mk2 Fabia Monte

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm looking for any ways to increase steering feel through vcds. I have new everything on the front of my car, including a poly steering rack bush and caster increase bushes.

These have helped but I still feel like there's room to improve.

I have vcds and played around with it. Changed the coding to the "sports" setting, again helps but not enough.

I'm looking for any other ways to add more "weight" to the steering.

If anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate them.

Thanks.

Smaller diameter steering wheel, wider and lower profile tyres...

Might be worth asking those 'in the know' if there's a coding option in the electric steering controller (address 44?) to reduce the assistance.

@DieselMonte  are you still on 205/40 r 17,s or have you gone to 215,s ?     I read your on Sport is that the least assistance on your car?    ,...,.,...., Different Mk2, vRS or Monte by age have different ways to change,  Some GTI some another name / code.

Winter tyres, or narrower i reduced assistance.

Currently on 215/40 17s

The standard setting for this was "1" for "Heavy vehicles" (pic related comes up when I try change it in vcds)

Went through all the settings 1-6 and 2 is the heaviest from what I can feel.

Really don't want to be farting about changing wheels but I may end up going that route if I feel I need to.
