So many errors...

Featured Replies

So after the ambient lighting upgrade that wasn't an upgrade I contacted Skoda and requested a refund. Purely out of principal.

The next morning, possibly out of coincidence I get loads of errors. Pictures attached. So it's being recovered to the garage today. Hopefully a quick fix 🤞

I got the same errors a few months ago. Dealer kept the car in for over a week as it needed some Airbag control module that was on back order and they claimed it wasn't safe to drive. Dealer was really good. They gave me a loan Superb for the duration of the repair so I was in no hurry for them to fix it.

Yeah mine have been good. They advised recovery so I'm currently in a seat Alhambra. Not the worst car I've ever driven. Just missing my roof bars to carry my canoe...

Apparently it had loads of errors when they plugged it in

Why am I having second thoughts about my new RS. 😕

If you're looking at a 2nd hand one, check the system info, ideally Head Unit H version or higher, software at least 1896 version. If lower than stated all of the above will apply. The lower spec models wont have as many probs , its the Columbus system plus other interdependent systems . I rejected mine but i managed to get the full 1896 software prior to collection.

It was an airbag control module.

It still has the SOS pop despite everything being super up to date.

It's a great car but I'm questioning if I want to own it outside of it's warranty.

I'm questioning whether I want to own it, full stop!

What is it now 2 years, coming on 3 and they STILL haven't fixed all of the errors, really not good enough.

I guess the big question is if new cars have this issue? I agree it's not good enough that these haven't been fixed but they're never going to recall all of the cars and fix them, it'll cost too much. Better to deal with the issues as they arise.

That's fine for issues that are not affecting safety (like the SOS pop) but ones like the "random cruise won't pass on the right so it slams the brakes on" IMHO are safety affecting so Skoda should be forced to do an official recall as they affect the safety of other road users too.

True but not everyone will use it. It's fixed by a software update that will fix it when it goes in for a service I guess.

That's not the point of a safety recall, if there is a fault on a car that CAN affect the safety of other road users then it needs fixing regardless of whether the usual driver is aware of the fault - most safety recalls come as a surprise to most owners/drivers.

TBH I'm very surprised that VOSA haven't jumped on this ACC fault already.

There is no VOSA now, they are DVSA.

Do not leave car faults on new cars until a car is going in for a service.

The Warranty has Exclusions & 6 months / 6,500 miles on some things.

But if you leave things un-reported then Staff at Dealerships say, 'we have never seen or heard of that' while other say ' they all do that',

and some say'.

Skoda / VW are dealing with that and will resolve it.

They change the names of these agencies so often ...

They do.

it was 8 years ago that they became the DVSA.
