Automatic light sensor!

Featured Replies

Hello and good morning.

I hope some one can help. My octavia vrs mk3 is coming up with an automatic light fault. According to the vcds it is the light/rain sensor on the windscreen. Does any one know if they need coding in? And if so can you recode a 2nd hand one cuz I have a written off standard octavia but according to etka is the same part!

Thank you in advance

Rob

The coding will probably be slightly different between models but you might find it works well enough without.

Can you add your VCDS autoscan showing the codes and what modules are fitted?

That looks like it's still communicating so you should be able to get the original part number and coding from a saved autoscan.

Just as a random example from a Golf:

You can then recode the replacement after fitting :)
