Lots of dash lights. Like when you disconnect battery. But they normally clear when you drive above a certain low speed like 15mph. Why didn't the garage test on completing work. It's a golden rule!!

You could try and disconnect battery again. Leave for 10 minutes, try again to see if they clear after driving short distance. Other than that a scan required.

According to receipt they did take it for a test drive , they just acted dumb and suggested the lights were on when I dropped it off.

I live just round the corner from garage   And only drove it the distance back home so will take for a longer drive tomorrow

I'd guess that they've damaged the wiring to an abs sensor whilst doing the shocks...

If it was just the normal lights after disconnecting the battery, I'd expect the lights to go out after a 100m or so.

Looks like signal from one (or more) of the ABS wheel speed sensors is faulty.

Would that affect the parking sensors and power steering ?

Both those systems require the vehicle speed so given the ABS sensors provide that data it's completely plausible.

Ideally you should scan the car for fault codes as that'll give a clear picture of what the car thinks is wrong...

Yes, they all use the vehicle speed signal (to turn off the parking sensors when moving and to vary the steering assistance).

I had the same set of warning messages and lights when a rear wheel speed sensor failed on my previous 1.4TSI Octavia 3.
