Superb iV charging flap

Featured Replies

I recently had a similar issue but the actuator on mine was not extending fully and it was sticking. The car has been back to the dealer and they have changed it under warranty. Thankfully I'm still in that period but it does seem to be a common issue. With the charging port being up at the front grill of the car I'm guessing the exposure to all the road grit and grime works its way into the unit? It is definitely too soon for it to fail.

Hi Stemac, I have always thought the charging flap to be very flimsy, up to now everything is ok on mine since the dealership fixed it

I have just had this issue.

Mine seems to be fixed now though. To do this I lubricated the plastic moving part will a small amount of silicon grease. It is early days to claim a victory though, as I "fixed" it at the weekend, so 4 days ago.

Its the locking mechanism it sticks ...you can get it online it costs a few quid ( around 12 when i got it for an Audi A6)

It's a common problem with VAG vehicles the actuators are rubbish

It has started to play up again, so it is time to change the actuator.

Looking forward to pulling the bumper off in this heat, so I have got the actuator in the closed position, so I can wait until the weather cools down a bit.
