Rear 272mm discs - can they be replaced without removing carrier??

Is that size the smaller of the discs fitted?

 

Because the smaller/smallest size can definitely be removed leaving the carrier in place, I removed mine.

 

I can't recall the sizes though and its too dark, cold and wet to go outside and look.

Apparently got that wrong then, but on my Adventure 140 If they are 272mm I couldn't remove the discs with the carrier in place but the caliper moved out of the way, had to get the local garage to do it, they had to remove the carrier and whilst doing it rounded the teeth on the 3 x 4 square tool!

They were not happy.

I’m pretty sure that if the disc is vented,  carrier has to come off, but the solid discs can be slid out with it in place, in most cases in my experience

My 1.4 Yeti 2WD has 272 mm solid rear discs.  Definitely couldn't be slid out.  I tried undoing the carrier with correct tool but just couldn't get enough force on it.  Garage job with a 4 post lift and a long bar.

It could be my memory is incorrect but I'm fairly certain that I replaced all the discs on the Yeti.

Thanks for all replies - they are most definitely 272mm discs with Bosch calipers and the carriers defo have to come off - difficult access job that many people have regretted doing DIY on by a number of accounts here and elsewhere.

The caliper carrier is probably one of the hardest items to remove on the Yeti. My garage had mine on the ramp and still couldn’t release them even with a long bar. It’s insane that Skoda designed them like this. Brake discs are a service item for goodness sake ! To make matters worse for me, the offside rear wheel bearing has cried enough and the rear hub nuts refuse to shift even after concentrating a Firemaster Torch with Ver Map gas on it for 15 minutes solid. Looks like I’m going to have to scrap the rear hubs and driveshafts and replace the lot.
