Tesla price drop UK 2023. Changing times, changing market. If they can pile them high and shift them cheaper. Or is it like a 'fire sale' make money while you can.

Model Y standard RWD is $47k, but everything is the same as LR AWD and performance except for smaller battery and RWD. So I'd put it around Ford Mach-e Premium RWD.

Model Y LR AWD is £50k. I can't see anything comparable from Ford in their trim levels. The extended range batery upgrade is only for RWD?!?

Great to see LFP battery used as standard. LFP are very good evolution of Li-on batteries.

Model Y, if one gets a good one, is a better car on paper in virtually every respect it seems but then the Mustang-E, even as it is a raised up pseudo shape of a ICE Mustang, some people will want that shape rather than the futuristic jelly mould model Y.

I hope Ford have sorted out the reported "characteristic" that Mustang-E could stay at full power for more than 5 seconds as the internals started to fry so system backed of the power massively.  Can happen to any car but was clearly what one might expect from a Beta version rather than a full production version.  Perhaps we can treat this Mustang-E Mk 2 as the first proper version.

Such a bizarre move by TESLA and a real kick in the teeth for those countries who drive on the left.

Overtaking lorries on single carriageway roads will have another level of jeopardy added to driving, wonder if something clever can be done with the camera system to look forward from the right hand of the vehicle to electronically check if it is safe to overtake ?

Perhaps until a big country like India embrasses TESLA we may not get RHD Model S and X etc ?

Left Hand drive is so very handy for the UK for parking at the kerb and even pavement / kerb side ev chargers.

Overtaking is so last decade.

Central Driving seats in Vehicles is just so 'Simply Clever',  if you can get your back side into the seat.

'Bubble Car front entry even more suitable for City / Town driving in City Cars.

Tesla X with Auto opening doors to the road side or pavement side are a danger.

Great opportunity for other manufacturers. Tesla have essentially given up with their premium lines in sizeable markets.

It is a choice but just means if the initial mid range EV works out, then Tesla won’t be under consideration for the replacement.

They get away with plenty by calling features beta, which in itself is off putting.

I would suggest that if CCS public chargers improves substantially then the last tesla benefit would be gone.

It’d be nice if Tesla cars were banned or charged more for high power CCS charging tbh.

I don't follow why?

I just get peed off when they are using free or cheap chargers and the driver wants them to 100% before moving their sore ass.

But there are many like that with big, medium or small batteries even doing it every time they charge even if they only ever do a few miles a time between charging.

Because they don’t (not really) let other cars use their network, often charge slowly on 350kW chargers and consume all the bays everywhere I have been.

If Tesla chargers were truly open and charged the same to everyone I would change my view.

As for selling LHD in the Uk, I would argue it’s somewhat dangerous (small imports too but not a primary sales, and so all LHD cars should display a giant warning left hand drive sticker. Also all autopilot should be disabled by law as it’s configured for traffic/overtaking on the other side.

Lane Keep Assist must get disable lots by drivers of Tesla X or just be set to gentle as many of them seem to not be able to drive within lane or on their own side of the road out in country roads like around Scotland.

Left hand drive might mean they can stay nearer the verge road side.

There are very much a type of driver that does seem to have them around my way and they could do with learning how 'Self parking works'.

Tesla initially built their network exclusively for Tesla's. But are slowly opening it up less busy ones. Until the short charging cable issue is resolved, it is not practical to open all locations due to some locations are extremely busy. It would be very wasteful at busy locations to have cars not yet compatible (due to poor charging stall design) taking up more than 1 space. As long as 1 incompatible (not rear left) car is charging, there will always be at least 1 wasted space.

Remember Ionity also give preferential treatment to its sponsoring brands: https://ionity.eu/en/network/access-and-payment

Also, there is a subscription to bring price of charging at Tesla superchargers down to same as Tesla cars.

It's rather sad to see you feel this way. It is indeed frustrating to arrive and see chargers all being used. But I never got upset when Ionity didn't put in Chademo for Leaf. TBH it's same with Tesla's short cables at busy locations. It is normal for charge point operators to put their sponsoring customers front and centre.

The Autopilot camera system is the same between LHD and RHD cars. It has geofencing rules, taking EU mainland cars here and driving UK cars in EU mainland, the autopilot overtaking behaviour changes according to which side it is driving on.

It's probably because lane keep assist is really aggressive on Tesla's. Parked car ahead and want to straddle the centre line? sometimes it warns loudly like an emergency.

I tolerate it just in case I need it, but I can see why people would turn it off.

Plenty vans and even lorries manage to stay on their own side on country roads and you see spaces where many would say 'you can get a bus through there' yet those in a Tesla X can not.
