my first problem with the vRS...

Featured Replies

OK, I've had this car 14 months now, and done 38k in that time, nothing has ever gone wrong, and today I encountered my first problem!

nothing terribly serious, just bizzar, I had the bonnet open doing engine checks with a pupil, asking him about the hydroulic fluid for the braking system, he didn't know where it was, I told him its the resevior at the back with the yellow cap, and he says "what yellow cap"? hhmmmmm

I had a look, and sure enough it's gone missing!!!!! it just isn't there! it was there last thursday..... and I have no idea where its gone... its not stuck around the engine bay, I had a good look, there was still fluid up to the top in it (and the container seems to be designed not to loose fluid) so as a temporary measure, I sealed it with some cling film and a rubber band! (I know, I'm a great engineer!) lol... just to stop any crap getting into the fluid, because that would be a BAD thing.......

anyway, I phoned skoda (bickertons) in Sheffield, and talked to a parts bloke, who seemed duly suprised, as he's never had to order one of these, and hasn't come accross any of them going missing! but, I have a new one on order (will be here on thursday) at a reasonable

Its hasnt been put on properly, its the only reason it could come off.

Should have lost any fluid, may have got more moisture than normal in it though.

Might be worth getting the fluid changed a bit early.

I'll keep that in mind, I'll ask how much extra to change the fluid at the next service, it'll be in for its 40k in about 3 weeks, no spongeness at the moment though :)

Weird! Have a good one at test the other day the examiner nearly refused to take the car as he could not see the brake fluid level! What a pillock!

a mate of mine has got a VW bora and his brake fluid cap would not stay tight , it was changed under warranty by his dealer ,i'm sure its the same cap as the fabia

I checked the level of my fluid as I had it changed on a service and I dropped the blo*dy cap into the engine bay... ...It dropped to the bottom and I had to remove the cover at the bottom to retrive it............Barstuard..

lol... yeah, some of them are.... at least I've not had any of them refuse me a test due to the briskoda sticker in the rear window (can't see out properly sort of crap!)

ric04vrs: I asked about it being a warrenty thing, and he said they would need a faulty part to send back, and I don't have it! lol... but at
