What is the largest size of alloy wheels that I can safely fit to my vRS Combi without having to mess around with the suspension?

I've got a set of 215/45 17"s on mine. I've never had an issue with them

I was hoping that I could fit 18"s to it. Has anyone had any experience of this set up?

18's shouldnt be an issue, EddyH has or did have 18's on his estate iirc

Yep I've been running 18's on mine for over 2 years and c.38k miles with no problems to report. Well, apart from when the wife drove it and almost immediately kerbed an alloy

235 is the widest without rubbing either on the struts or the arch.

Don't go much wider than an 8" rim.
