Hello, can any of you tell me the life span of the cam belt on this car?

It has covered 48 thousand miles and I would like to get it changed sooner rather than later.

A friends Discovery needed a change at 70K and subsequently broke about 200 miles past the 70K mark!

The irony was that he was driving home when the car turned its seventy-eth thousand mile and he thought 'hmm, I'll get the cam belt changed'.

60k would be the earliest it needs chaging, some are 80k.

How old is the car?

It is a 2000 registered car.
