Must admit once you have any tweaking done engine-wise it's great to have VAGCOM. Even without that though I think it's a good investment if you intend to keep the car for a while and/or you have limited time to visit a (main or other) dealer.

I have a feeling that armed with some diagnostic codes etc and the aid of a few knowledgeable forum members a lot of issues can be sorted without major labour charges :)

10% =

Sure will.. here is todays effots... managed to get the bonnet off... had to drill out the bolts... they are damn tough these furbies!!! Removed some bits of the old dash as well.

Going to wash and wax her tomorrow to keep her protected, and build a frame to keep the cover off the car so any future rain runs off.

What condition is your washer bottle in mate? ;)

Need a new one ;) and a new bonnet ;)

Kinda glad I kept it now - I sold the pump off it ages ago, so I hope you still have the pump off your old smashed up washer bottle. ;) All I have is the bare bottle only. :)

Now this really has put me to shame Rich! 12 volt, in his current sorry state is looking positively gleeming compared with big v :o

Well after a dash full of lights after the crash and no power steering I've been worrying about the cost of repair of the whole little beasty.

Well my £19 VAG-COM cable arrived from america yesterday and this morning i've cleared all the faults....

:D :D :D :D Power Steering back and working spot on, all dash lights gone except airbag light (oviously... no airbags in car!!)

So my worry about the whole steering system being busted in crash has been elieviated as a simple re-set was all that was needed.

Happy Happy Happy!

So deffo was worth getting the VAG-COM!

Well my

I am so interested in your posts at the moment:thumbup: ' date=' Im comming up for a massive payrise and was thinking of buying a written off white SDI and doing a WRC conversion on it. When you have a crash, does the engine stop? Also I would be interested to know what sort of fault codes were generated by an accident. I'm a morbid sod arn't I?:)

Really enjoying your posts mate, pure inspiration:thumbup:  [/quote']

Stupidly i didn't save the codes... but when loooking through each moduel i'd see faults referred to 'crash data stored' or 'crash signal' and resetting these eliviated the problems.

No doubt Lummux or someone really up with VAG_COM can help you out in what codes are generated. But as i've said simple looking through of modules and clearing done the job

All i do know is... there is now less fault codes on my written off furby than there is on my road worthy golf
