Predictive ACC,

100% right, both :)

good:

it can be useful for countries with zero speed exceed tolerance,

crossing fingers Latvia won't be as fast as other countries. +10kmh still ok.
bad:

i had feeling, like police man controls me all the time,

not for my taste. currently switched it off.

Loving the updates on your new 280.

Did they not have to stop putting the engine covers on because they were coming loose and melting causing a fire risk, certainly they were on MkVIII Golf GTI and R - their part number is very slightly different, so perhaps the one with suffix "L" has solved the issue - I believe there was a recall where dealers were told to take the cover off - and bin it!

There's an article here - part number quoted as having the issue was 06Q-103-925-K

I've actually invested in a Mk7 Golf R engine cover for my 280 - complete with "R" logo - will post a pic when I get a chance.

I really wish our 2016 had a couple of 5v outputs and a what seems to be an 230v inverter output?

  • Author

^^^ @numskull

USB Type A also is 5v :)

230v is nice to have, but actually haven't use it ever.

for me, 12v + one USB-A is more flexible than two Type-C -
1. lot larger list of devices which can be feed from 12v socket.
2. all of my family's devices have been equipped by Gen10 magnetic connectors,
haven't met any cable with Type-C on the other end

230425_Gen10_angled_ED.thumb.jpg.2e284f33af45ec1930c558c660af842a.jpg

3. haven't tested new Type-C sockets in MY23,
but previous Type-A in MY16 weren't able provide enough power for large phones / tablets,
the battery charged only when device were in standby
what i solved by similar 12v QC3 chargers

Thanks MartiniB 👍🏻👍🏻

The 230v inverter cannot be fitted to the UK cars as the outlet does not comply with our 3 pin socket specifications.  I assume it isn't worth Skoda's time and expense to fit an outlet that complies with UK regulations.

I've never seen anyone mention that they've retro fitted one to a UK car.

Hey MartiniB,

I note they’re fitted to some Audi and the ghastly Bentaga (obviously they’re the same lock system as the Superb) but I’m mystified as to what they actually do?

  • Author

Hi @numskull!

these Audi's / Bentley's parts make Superb drive faster :)

and add finished look

😂 Right, but what’s their real purpose?

BTW… that sound insulation you’ve added is insane

improvement aren't as huge as i waited for,

for unknown reason they ignored adding of ~3mm foam layer

example -> https://www.drive2.com/l/471766905447777004/

anyway sound comfort now are on higher level than A6, E-Class have got from the factory,

little bit behind 5 series

Ahhhh, so do they reduce the locking sound? If not what’s the purpose?
