don't ask too much!

1. VAG engineers have had unknown reasons to develop them

2. they fit in our Superb

3. why not :)

then comes immeasurable

4. dust protection

5. sound deadening

6. finished look

huge closing comfort improvement came from Electric Suction Door

Can I ask where you got them, Martini? And are they all the same?

Hi MartiniB, how did you install them? Do I need to remove the two black Torx screws on the side of the door to install these seals?

Finally I found some time to go through this ... you've done amazing stuff on your car, compliments!

I took also some notes on things to do sometime on mine as well, when time and commitments will allow.

I've done a few full-interior noise treatment/insulation stuff in the past, and it makes a difference, in various degrees.

I was curious as to why only the 'bitumen' parts for done without the soft closed cell part, but is interesting to see there is allowance to do that.

My last project of that (my P38 RR), once I added, the carpet was a terrible fit, very precise fit from factory with no room to add material.

Anyway, for now I will not be disassembling the car ... SWMBO would kill me, after all I promised this was would not be a "project" car 🤪

So things will have to be very much under the radar, a first for me.

Thanks for sharing and don't stop tinkering 😝

Question about the vacuum, do the kits adapt to the existing motors or do have to be replaced? I had no time yet to go through the ru links, was thinking to do this when I feel ready to go for it ... maybe sometime in the summer.

suction motors come in the kit.

by orange is marked part, which goes to replace in the OEM locking mechanisms

Hey M, wanna have a laugh?

The other day I went to a dealer to see a car and he noticed the Superb and wondered why it has no vacuum on the doors. So he proceeds to show me a Taycan he has for sale and says this is the only Porsche that comes without them, but he retrofitted and indeed he did. He offered me such service for ... I convert to euros ... 767 euros 🤪 😆

similarly as my previous 2016. Mk3 2.0 TSI 220ps FWD

-> https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/485647-bilstein-b6-dcc-shock-absorbers-available-at-last/?do=findComment&comment=5620484

also current 2023. Mk3.FL 2.0 TSI 280ps AWD got this upgrade -

challenge, stiffness without lowering, succeed :)

front

Eibach F11-85-043-03-FA + Bilstein B6 DampTronic 23-254343

rear

Eibach F11-79-013-01-RA + WRONG Bilstein B6 DampTronic 20-254353 (correct part code would be 20-267537)

240430_193058_ED.thumb.jpg.84393e909efaeb1ef21d216ec5c1587a.jpg

OEM DCC

front

3Q0 413 031 AK + 5Q0 411 105 GN

rear

3Q0 513 045 AD + 3Q0 511 115 AL

240323_280ps_DCC_1_ED.thumb.jpg.ec146f5594fac4d3cada180c4966e577.jpg

played lottery also on front axle because

a) rear axle had it in any case

b) four springs set, Eibach Pro-Kit from Kodiaq E10-79-013-03-22, priced €193 while four separate springs €265

c) front of 280ps, in theory, has extra weight from bigger turbine and DSG radiator

choice table (green 2.0 FWD / yellow 2.0 AWD)

00_Springs_table_Front+Rear.jpg

ride conditions improved, waterbed is gone  -

new Comfort is somewhere between as were OEM Normal-Sport

new Normal is as OEM Sport

new Sport is as OEM Sport with a small plus

difference between modes decreased for about 50%

BUT, suspension got knocking sound after upgrade 😞

as first suspicions were wrong rear shock code -

i were too much focused on springs parameters as result i didn't double checked what b-šhit is declared on sellers webpage

such small mistake, minus €700+ (seller already rejected, crossing fingers on PayPal)

Tuning-Expert_com_20-254353.thumb.png.c674089a46e46b4b03233ad690babdf9.png

two weeks later knocking sound were solved by replace

rear struct Bilstein 12-281459 to used OEM 5Q0 513 353 E

looks like i will leave "wrong" rear shocks - they are ~20mm shorter than "correct" Bilsteins

but in compare to OEMs, they have same full length with extra 10mm in Biltein's cylinder length

list of parts to replace together with shocks and springs were made from my previous Mk3

!!! knocking sound
Bilstein 12-281459 x2    r. Top Strut Mounting (5Q0 513 353 E)

later i also got parts codes list of Mk3.FL -

rear axle have no changes, front got nuts with bigger heads

N 91246401   x6     Nut M8x32        OEM 2016 Mk3
WHT 008 926  x6    Nut M8x39        OEM 2023 Mk3.FL

5Q0 412 331 E       x2             OEM 2023 Mk3.FL

wondering, maybe following can be in higher comfort level due VAG hierarchy
5Q0 412 331 F        x2            OEM Arteon

That was a fantastic trip and it's one that I'd love to do, but SWMBO isn't interested as she likes to go somewhere warm and with plenty of shops!  I've been to most European countries, but Norway's one I haven't visited yet.

just wait for climate changes :)

before we started i checked two weeks forecast for Bergen, which were cloudy rainy 14-18c

in reality just two days i didn't wear a shorts, temperatures in the cities were 18-30c, just in mountains lowest were seen 7c

as alternative for Norway i can suggest Slovenia

20230722_115641.thumb.jpg.d3b86121f79dade89d223e343d96296a.jpg

We went to Slovenia and Croatia 2 years ago and enjoyed it very much.  We went through Austria over the Alps and came back through Italy, France and Monaco, where it was very hot at 35ºC.

We were in Lithuania in May and June this year and it was hot there too when it went up to 30ºC.  We covered 3,427 miles or 5,516 km, so a trip to Norway from the UK wouldn't be so far.  SWMBO has friends in Flensburg, Germany who she wants to visit, so maybe I can twist her arm to combine a trip to see them and then on to Norway.

Arteon's OEM 5WA 412 331 A + Superb's OEM 5Q0 412 249 E have been installed!

i can't confirm improvement in compare to OEM 5Q0 412 331 E

because few months between installation and current Eibach Pro springs are about 15% stiffer than OEMs were,

but definitely, they are better than my wrongly made side step FEBI 40171 FEBI 44799

Exactly why you have a leather brush to (gently) clean leather steering wheels 👍

Haldex maintenance required change only oil,

but i asked additionally clean also filter and weren't wrong with that

28.8 kKm

Shocking!

I think I will not wait until 60k km to do mine ...

Ahh same here, I would require filter cleaning as well on 30k km.

I cleaned it on my ex-car Octavia 3 and also changed the o-rings and bolts(the maintenance) for the pump. But I think you can change them every other time.

Have done mine every 2 years/12k miles. Pretty sure they’ve been similar to that at those distances.

  • 6 months later...

I can report by installing top mounts 5WA 412 331 A (Arteon) has made a difference however I am on Bilstein coilovers aswell.

It's feel more comfortable/ road imperfections are a bit less intrusive and the steering weight is lighter in Normal mode.
