Want to get new rims for my Scala, but can't find all the specs for my current ones

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

Basically, I'm a complete noob when it comes to rims. All I know is that I have 16'' default ones. These:

The specs I need are "spacing between the holes". I have these two options:

I also have "ET". I have no idea what's that.

So what do I choose?

Thanks for the help and I apologise for my complete lack of knowledge when it comes to rims 😅

Hello Iggy, I'm pretty sure your wheel bolt PCD will be 5 x 112 x 17mm. If your wheels are standard, ET details are moulded into the inside of the rim. Try (Google) a website called 'Will They Fit' a very useful source of data for all things wheel related.

PS. 'ET' is the distance the rim projects from the centreline - giving an indication of clearances to suspension or wing.

CORRECTION - I just checked - Wheel bolt PCD is 5 x 100.

@Carlstonmight be along.  Scala are 100 x 5  though. Same as Fabia & Kamiq.

SIzing information is literally cast into the rims, probably the inside.

This seems to be your wheel, 657 601 025 B

Style is called "Alcaris"

6Jx16 ET38

If you go for 17"

6.5Jx17 ET40

If you go for 18"

7Jx18 ET39

These are the ideal size/offset dimensions, you can stray a little out, I am sure someone will check your choices for what you find.

Had no idea. Thanks!

Our Polo winter wheels may be similar to yours.

VW Las Minas

6.5x16

PCD 5x100

ET47

Part 2G0601025S (I think)

Have a look at this brochure, has all the wheels with their ET (offsets) and the required tyre size, along with photos

https://www.skoda.co.uk/_doc/639a0118-4da5-446b-a786-86e1f789b57b

The wheel rims are 16, 17, 18 inch.   The smaller sizes will be more comfortable and tyres will be cheaper, the big size will be more harsh on poor roads

The ET is 38-40, the numbers are millimetres, but not a problem if couple of  millimetres different when buying aftermarket rims (it is how far out the wheels are from hubs)

Kenny,  You seem to be knowledgable in this.  I have a new scala 2024.  And I have some old 6J15 alloy rims from my previous Fabia.   Howver the ET is different at 38 (measured since the stamping is quite illegible but it also could also be 39)   would they work on the scala - for winter tyres for the next season?  Thanks for your help  .

The 15" wheels on the Fabia MK3 have a specification of 185/60R15 6Jx15 ET38 5/100 57.1

The outside diameter of the 185/60R15 tyres is far too small for the Scala, but you could use those rims with the 195/65R15 tyre size.

The 195/65R15 is a winter tyre size on the Scala and is normally fitted to 6Jx15 ET35 5/100 57.1 steel rims. The ET38 rims from the Fabia MK3 will push the centre of each wheel

3mm further into the wheelarch compared to the ET35 offset.

Carlston,  Thanks for those details,

Well the 3mm movement into the wheelarch isn't realy very dramatic, especially considdereing that these would be for winter tyres and being used at lower speeds.

The 195/65R15 would be a good size winter tyre and I will look into that for the next cold season.  Hopefully, the main winter period will be over for us here in Scotland and thempeartures should rise a bit. Today we actually had a near unbelievable balmy 14 degC.
