How easy are they to fit? Do they plug into the Infotainment unit in the Glove Box? or is it a complete replacement!?

The unit in the glove box become useless ad you unplug the quad lock from the unit to plug it to the Android one. O. The other hand, if your car has Stock gps, you can use a fakra adaptor to hook the car gps antenna to the Android unit (works great). The same goes for the dab antenna, fakra to the USB stick format and you are good to go. Only the microphone can't be used as the car had a powered mic

The fakra adaptor sounds interesting , what is that ?? , apart from sometimes having signal issues , the unit is great , plug and play , and easy to use

Sorry , please excuse my stupidity , if i got the fakra cable for the DAB aerial , does that mean i can get rid of that aerial that sticks on the window ?? so connecting the fakra cable it straight to the usb dongle ??

yes. the black connector is the car DAB antenna, plug it to the fakra then the cable to the usb dongle. You will have DAB reception without having to stick the antenna on the window.

It is cleaner and more efectiv this way

Hello all

Just an update , i got the refund for the unit , they also said they would refund me the postage to return the unit ( Cost me £30 to post back to China ) but never received that , tried messaging multiple times and in the end got ignored , tried different avenues to contact Ali Express , but as the matter was classed as " complete " i could get any message across , so be aware , you may not get all your money back , in the end i was just happy to get the lump sum back for the unit . wont be using " Aliexpress" for anything else .

Managed to get a Teyes CC3 unit fitted to the car , does everything i want it too and controls the cars functions as the original unit did  , but will be saving my pennies to upgrade to MIB2.5 Columbus in the future .

Cheers

How are you finding the CC3 ? Do all the original things with with it like steering wheel controls, parking sensors, tire pressure resetting etc? And is the mic aweful?

Can't find many posts on here, and looking at getting the CC3 2K Version, figured I'd rather pay extra for a nice bigger screen than £150 to unlock android auto in my 2016 VRS.

Reviews of the new unit suggest the mic has been improved too.

Installed and impressed, works well with the larger screen little to no lag present when working through the menus and apps.

Only problem is with my reverse camera... Can't connect it to the new MIB loom as has an RCA cable for connection and my camera has a small purple 5 or 6 pin connector. PDC still works fine however.

Hey, does the stock microphone work for you? Or do you need to connect an external microphone to the unit? Thanks for the info. :)

Stock works fine when it works... If that makes sense? Receiving calls and voice replies for messages are good, however if I'm making a call then it can take a while for the mic to connect even after the call is answered, so some people hang up on me... More bluetooth related than mic though that part I'm guessing!

The stock mic if the car won't work as it is a powerd mic with a noise cancelling function.

As for the unit mic, it depends. Usually internal and external don't have noise cancelling.

On the units I tried, the call qualitiy was really crap. I managed to improve it by adding an external noise cancelling mic powdered by usb but you will never get the car mic quality

Hello, I bought an interface identical to yours, but it came without instructions. Could you send me some photos of the instruction manual?

Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi, apologies but I have no idea where the instruction manual is! If I remember rightly, it wasn't much help anyway...

Sure, no problem. Thanks anyway.

Hello,

I have installed an interface but I have a small problem. The Android Auto screen always connects when I turn on the car, even though I was on the radio when I turned it off. Do you know if there is any setting to prevent the Android Auto screen from automatically showing up when I turn on the car?

Thanks.

Not sure about in the menus... Just hold down the menu switch button on the steering wheel to close it down and use stock software.

i have one of these on the way ill let you know how it works wirelessly

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007252891146.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.4.7f021802GEfE7v

I had one of those,

They work ok but on speech recogntion, it would just hang, not understanding what I was saying.

For the reste it is fine (navigation, musique, vidéo, AA but without speech recognition...)

I think once the phone is paired to it it starts android auto automatically. I dont like voice recognition as i have a thick accent and just end up swearing at it. as long as it presents on the touch screen ill be happy plus you can side load more apps and run IPTV etc. I had this working before using mirror link and a hack with two phones but it was a ball ache. This looks straight forward. You still need carplay enabled on the head unit MIB2

someone also mentioned they can run hot and my idea was to hide it behind the touch screen in the dash and run a tee piece from the glove box cooler pipe to behind the dash to blow cold air on it.

Man, I was so keen on getting one of those 4GB RAM / 64GB storage Android Auto screens after seeing it in my friend's Skoda. It seems decent, but he says the screen is crazy bright even at its dimmest at night. And you're totally right about the microphone being rubbish! It's annoying that you can't just connect it to the car's built-in one. I'm hoping there's a solution, like a decent external mic. Anyone know what kind of port the mic uses on these things? AUX, maybe?

Yes they use aux input.

Thr best i managed to achieve was use a noise cancelling mic from Amazon, the synco S6M2 It got decent but nowhere near the stock mic at higher speeds. The stock mic is a powdered mic.

For. The screen brightness, i never had issues. Just put a dark theme.

Awesome that you found a better microphone! Was the new one installed in the same place as the original, next to the ceiling lights? I've noticed some Audi systems use 3.5mm aux FISCON mics, which I'd imagine are also good quality (and hopefully not cheap copies) https://kufatec.com/en/fiscon-microphone-for-audi-interior-light/36338-1 . I wondered if one of those could work with Double Take in the original location.

It's a bummer, but it looks like I can't put an Android box in my MIB1, and 480p just won't cut it, as I've seen a comment that the person paying nearly £700 for the small, not even 6-inch screen, haha. Out of curiosity, did you go for the 4GB RAM version of the Android unit? I couldn't quite tell from what I saw.

I put the mic over the sun visor.

The issue is the sound processing so the mic you showed won't change anything.

When i got the unit i went with the 4gb one

You are better off upgrading to mib2, it is what I ended doing
