Is there a perfect remap?

Featured Replies

Hi

I reckon my one is pretty good. A Jabba custom map capping torque at 283lb/ft and keeping that torque going all the way up the rev range provides 40% more shove at the top end. Traction is reasonable (full throttle in 2nd sees a little chirrup from the tyres in the dry but otherwise OK. Scary in the wet though having a linear flat torque output makes it managable)

Run a search on "A conservative remap and thank you JabbaSport" to see a dyno plot (before and after) and discussion.

Bonus is improved fuel economy!

Ont thing to be aware of. After the rolling road session, the car was quite rattly, which worried me a little. It turned out to be the oil (Quantum PD) which had basically had it. Refilling with fresh sorted it out.

I've got to agree with the others on the AMD OneClick 'generic' in that it is user friendly, and seems to be clutch friendly.

I've driven and owned a few modified cars, and many turbo remaps are quite aggressive and you are driving around the torque all of the time to stop the car surging forward in driving conditions where it's not really the done thing to suddenly hurtle forward, ASR light madly flashing! No such problems with the AmD map, you even forget it's there until you put the thing back to standard and soon notice the 'lack' of get up and go.

Mind you I have now moved on from there and will very soon be looking to sell my OneClick switch.

Don't want much do I?:D

I have recently bought an AmD one click from another Briskodian( ) and I am planning on getting it custom mapped when I have the finances. My question is, what is the best balance of torque, power and clutch friendliness. I know that the generic map from AmD gives an increase of approx 35 lbs/ft of torque and 30 bhp so is it worth me getting it custom mapped, it's an extra

Ok, I'm starting to think that maybe the generic map would be the best way to go. Spose it would give me an extra

Just had a look at the graph, must say that is mighty impressive (maybe even perfect:sofahide: )
