Sticking revs

Featured Replies

Hi All

My 02 Octavia TDI 90 seems to have developed yet another fault; in a nutshell, sometimes I start it up and the revs rise to around 1400 revs and stick there for around 15 minutes before dropping down to idle normally.

Also, sometimes when changing gear I notice the revs don't drop at all, and actually shoot UP in between gear changes, even though I've released my foot from the accelerator.

It's becoming quite annoying now (and embarrassing!), so does anyone have any ideas what may be causing it?

Finally, I've also noticed that occasionnally the car seems to have absolute oodles of power and goes like a rocket, but then if i switch it off (say, to call in a shop) and start it up again it's drives like a Lada Riva again.

Any ideas?

TIA :D
